Honoring Survivors on the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women

Today, November 25th, Rahab’s Daughters joins the global community in observing the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women. This day holds profound significance for us, as we work tirelessly to combat one of the most devastating forms of gender-based violence: human trafficking.

Across the world, millions of women and girls are trapped in the horrific cycle of trafficking, where they face physical, emotional, and psychological abuse. These survivors often bear the scars of violence in silence, hidden from society’s view. At Rahab’s Daughters, we are committed to breaking that silence, shining a light on these injustices, and providing a path to freedom, safety, and healing.

Human Trafficking: A Global Crisis

Human trafficking is one of the most egregious forms of violence against women. Women and girls make up 71% of all trafficking victims globally, with many forced into sexual exploitation, labor trafficking, or domestic servitude. This modern-day slavery is fueled by systemic inequalities, lack of economic opportunities, and deeply entrenched gender norms that devalue women’s lives.

At Rahab’s Daughters, we see the faces behind these statistics every day. We’ve heard the stories of survivors who have endured unimaginable suffering yet show extraordinary resilience. Their courage inspires our mission to rescue, rehabilitate, and reintegrate survivors while working to prevent trafficking from taking root in vulnerable communities.

Our Work: A Beacon of Hope

This day serves as a reminder of why we do what we do. Rahab’s Daughters stands on the frontlines in the fight against human trafficking. Through outreach programs, survivor support services, and community education, we are actively working to eliminate the violence perpetuated by traffickers.

• Rescue and Rehabilitation: Our dedicated teams work around the clock to identify and rescue victims from trafficking situations. Once rescued, survivors receive medical care, counseling, education, and skills training to rebuild their lives.

• Prevention through Education: We believe that education is a powerful tool in the fight against trafficking. By training individuals and communities to recognize the signs of trafficking, we empower them to take action.

• Partnering with Communities: Traffickers often prey on the vulnerable. We work closely with faith-based organizations, businesses, and local authorities to create safe environments where women and girls are less likely to be targeted.

• Advocating for Change: We push for stronger anti-trafficking laws, survivor-centered policies, and greater accountability for those who perpetuate violence and exploitation.

What You Can Do Today

Ending human trafficking and the violence it represents requires a united effort. Here’s how you can join Rahab’s Daughters in making a difference:
